Town Name: Abingdon. the downland belonging to "Ebba" (Old Englishman's name)

One of the most attractive towns in the UK. Abingdon was originally the county town of Berkshire. However, in 1974 the town was moved to Oxfordshire The town was formed at the gates of an old abbey in the 1st century AD and was associated with the wool trade. The bridge over the Thames is over 500 years old. Was also the home of MG sports cars until recently.
